DIY Spring 3D painting from a cardboard: Flowers in a vase (from 2.5 years)
The weather is beautiful outside, the flowers are blooming, and we decided to make a picture of the flowers in a vase. The image is plastic. We made the vase from cardboard, temper and salt. We glued the flowers from colored paper to plain office paper and a piece of cardboard. The article is an inspiration for you on how to create a nice decoration for an apartment.
What we created
We created a 3D image of flowers in a vase. The picture shows a colored vase, which we made from a piece of cardboard, temper and salt. The children pasted flowers around the vase, completed them with colored centers from paper balls. I pasted the whole picture on the cardboard from the vacuum cleaner box.back to menu ↑
Suitable for: 3+ years old
Children around two and a half years of age can color a vase and glue flowers. They may need a little adult help. Four-year-olds can make a picture almost on their own.back to menu ↑
What you need
- Tempera colours
- White paper
- Colored papers
- Cardboard from an old box
How to do it
First, I cut out a vase template from plain paper, which I drew on cardboard, and cut out a vase from cardboard. Then I reduced the template by about 2 mm on each side and drew it on plain white paper. I cut flowers out of colored paper and made balls out of yellow and gray paper like the centers of flowers.
The children first painted the cut vase. They applied a sufficient amount of tempera to the substrate. The paints must be sufficient and must be wet.
As soon as they dyed the vase, they poured salt on it. We let the vase dry.As the vase dried, the children glued the flowers to the white paper. They glued them around a drawn (slightly smaller) vase according to their imagination. When they glued all the flowers to the paper, they finished them with balls.
I glued the white paper to the cardboard. After drying, I peeled off the excess salt from the vase and the children glued the vase to white paper. Exactly in place of the drawn smaller template. The picture was done.
I wish you a lot of fun. 🙂
